SkillBridge DevSecOps Engineering Intern

The successful candidate will also have some knowledge of DevSecOps principles, secure software development practices, CI/CD workflows, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures..
This opportunity is available through the Department of War SkillBridge program for eligible active-duty service members. This is an unpaid training opportunity. Participants continue to receive military pay and benefits through the Department of War.
Job Description: The DevSecOps Engineering Intern will support the modernization of our existing production systems as well as assist in developing new scalable, secure, containerized production systems. The primary focus will be on modernization, scalability, reliability, security, and compliance. You will work alongside our Senior DevSecOps Engineer and engineering team to support known obligations while contributing creatively and strategically to new and impactful areas of improvement.
Responsibilities
- Participate in DevSecOps training under mentorship
- Assist with coding, testing, debugging, and code reviews
- Gain exposure to Git, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, and Agile workflows
- Support secure coding practices and application security principles
- Collaborate on structured engineering tasks
- Document technical processes and development work
- Communicate updates and progress to mentors and engineering staff
Requirements
- Basic understanding of software development or technical systems
- Interest in DevSecOps or software engineering
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a structured environment
- Familiarity with Git or development tools preferred
